Ada's Wash day
Ada's Wash day
It's "Ada's Wash Day" but with a wonderful twist.
Join Ada and Mama as they go through their weekly Sunday morning hair washing ritual. Their special mother-daughter bond is brilliantly captured and illustrated in this fun, and sweet story about grooming and self-acceptance.
Read and see how Mama teaches Ada to care for her hair and Ada learns to love and accept herself just the way she is. Mama also learns a little bit about herself too!
About the Author
Sharnette is a first-time children's picture book author of diverse stories for young readers. She was born in a sleepy fishing village on the Caribbean Island of St Lucia, spent her formative years in the UK and she now lives in the land of tulips, windmills and bicycles - the Netherlands, with her husband and 2 children: Adalia & Gabriel. Her children are her biggest inspiration.
Her first book, titled "Ada's Wash Day" is based on real life experiences and conversations with Adalia about her hair, her identity, and her place in the world. Growing up in their quaint suburb in the Netherlands, there weren't many little girls who look like Adalia. Adalia always felt different and at times, was made to feel different! So "Ada's Wash Day" was born.
Sharnette's mission is to inspire & empower & educate little, big readers with little, big stories so that they can see themselves, understand themselves better, and develop a love of who they are - kinks and all.
