About the Author
Carolyn May was born in Surrey in the UK and lived in South West London for a long time. She now lives in Cardiff with her husband, Chris. She works in healthcare and loves writing about animals in her spare time. Carolyn wrote the first version of this book shortly after university some 25 years ago. After the disk it was saved on was corrupted, she thought the book was lost. Luckily, when she and Chris were clearing out a garage in 2018, she came across a copy she had printed out!
Carolyn is passionate about preserving the beautiful species of our world and raising awareness of the challenges they face for survival. When she was a little girl, she and her sister Jeanette used to raise money for the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. Their approach included washing neighbours’ cars, sponsored activities and – to the slight dismay of their father – selling items at car boot sales that they had been given for Christmas!
Carolyn hopes that this book will encourage young readers to get involved in helping to protect and safeguard wildlife throughout the world and would love to hear about any activities they are doing!
