About the Author
Born and bred in South West London, Youth worker and author Dorraine Robinson has over 12 years of experience working with young people in community settings and secondary education within pastoral, welfare and safeguarding departments.
Outside of this, she is the founder of Like Me For Me, a small black-owned business specialising in a range of children's multicultural books and toys. The aim is to instil in children a high sense of self-esteem and a strong sense of gratification for their culture and heritage through books and toys that feature characters who look like them, because black representation matters!
Unable to sleep one night, Dorraine decided she wanted to personally add to the collection of books at Like Me For Me and reached for her iPhone and started making notes for a children's picture book. What better story to tell than that of the loving relationship she had growing up with her best friend and real-life superhero - her grandad? There started the journey of her debut book 'Grandad and Me'.
