About the Author

This is Helen's first book, though she never intended to write one.

During her experience with breast cancer, she found herself keeping a diary and creating 21 paintings to help her process everything that she was going through and find moments of calm. They were created purely for herself, but over time she realised they were meant to be shared.

Helen has spent much of her life moving around and working in a variety of roles, mainly in construction, but never truly found her true calling until now. She has finally settled by the sea, where she has embraced life as an artist and creative.

The sea, ever-changing skies, nature, colour, abstract forms and the tactile joy of paint all inspire her work, alongside the endless stream of thoughts, feelings and emotions that shape her inner world. When she's not painting, you'll often find her sea dipping or simply soaking up the beauty of the coastline she now calls home.
